I had learned figures, but purely mechanically. Before I came to Horacio, I had no idea what it means to lead cleanly and to be led cleanly — and how incredibly pleasant it is when the lead is right.

Later he showed me many technical tricks that don't just help you yourself, but turn dancing into a true passion for every couple.

With Horacio I learned a lot: dancing salsa, of course, leading and being led. But the most valuable part was the inner processes it set in motion. I learned more about myself — about how I move in relationships.

On a deeper level I realised how closely my movement patterns are tied to my relationship patterns. In dance, my habitual strategies around closeness, control, trust and letting go became visible: often subtle, but clearly felt. Especially in switching between leading and following, I recognised my own inner attitudes.

So dancing became a mirror of my personality and, at the same time, a practice ground for change. I am deeply grateful for that.
